AJ Styles defends son Avery following wrestling industry controversy

Professional wrestler AJ Styles has addressed the recent controversy involving his son, Avery Styles, following public remarks made by promoter Arik Cannon. The dispute began after Cannon criticized the 19-year-old for allegedly refusing to assist with event setup during a GCW show in Minneapolis.

AJ Styles defended his son, stating that Avery and fellow wrestler Marcus Mathers traveled from Missouri to Minnesota, slept in a car, and were focused on performing their match. Styles expressed regret that the matter became a public issue, suggesting it should have been handled privately between adults rather than through social media.

WWE Hall of Famer JBL also weighed in, praising AJ Styles for his parental support. JBL criticized the decision to air grievances online, noting that publicizing such issues could unfairly damage a young performer's burgeoning career. During a podcast discussion, JBL and co-host Conrad Thompson also suggested the situation could potentially be utilized as a professional wrestling storyline.
