AJ Styles reveals Cody Rhodes’ mother went off-script during WWE match

AJ Styles recently shared an anecdote regarding an unexpected moment during his ‘I Quit’ match against Cody Rhodes at Clash at the Castle 2024. Speaking on the podcast ‘What Do You Wanna Talk About?’, Styles revealed that Cody Rhodes’ mother went off-script during a planned segment.

While she was originally intended to slap Styles only once, he noted that she ended up slapping him three times. Styles joked that she may have felt the first attempt was not sufficient, despite her being one of the sweetest people he knows. Rhodes acknowledged the moment, noting that he observed Styles’ reaction during the match and wondered if the extra strikes were encouraged, though Styles clarified she was simply caught up in the intensity of the moment.
