A'ja Wilson's return powers Las Vegas Aces to win over Portland Fire

A'ja Wilson returned from a three‑game ankle injury absence and recorded a 32‑point, 10‑rebound double‑double, leading the Las Vegas Aces to an 88‑80 road victory over the Portland Fire. The win moved the Aces to 16‑6, tying the Minnesota Lynx for the league's best record. It was Wilson's seventh 30‑point game of the season and secured coach Becky Hammon an All‑Star Game coaching slot.

Earlier in the season the Aces had suffered a 99‑66 home loss to the Phoenix Mercury, while veteran DeWanna Bonner became the third player in WNBA history to surpass 8,000 career points. Wilson said she tested her ankle before the game and felt ready to play aggressively. The Aces shot 50.8% from the field and made eight three‑pointers in the victory.
