Ajax and SC Cambuur negotiate early termination of Ryan van de Pavert loan

Ajax and SC Cambuur are in discussions to prematurely terminate the loan agreement for defender Ryan van de Pavert. Although the 20-year-old was intended to spend the full season in Leeuwarden to gain Eredivisie experience, the collaboration has not progressed smoothly.

Reports indicate that Van de Pavert has struggled to settle in the Friesland region and wishes to return to Amsterdam. If the agreement is dissolved, he is expected to rejoin Jong Ajax, where he has previously made 24 appearances. Van de Pavert, who is under contract with Ajax until mid-2029, started the season's opening match for Cambuur but has not featured since. His recent absence from the squad during the match against Feyenoord was attributed to 'personal circumstances' by the club.
