AEK pushes ahead with transfer talks for Zambian striker Kings Kankua

AEK coach Marco Nicolits praised his side after a 2‑1 friendly victory over Groningen, saying the team has “done good work, the kids are working hard” and that the first phase of preparation was successful.

Parallel to the on‑field progress, AEK is in active negotiations with Israeli club Hapoel Be’er Sheva for the signing of 27‑year‑old Zambian forward Kings Kankua. Reports indicate AEK has submitted an official offer exceeding €2.5 million, while Hapoel expects a fee between €3.5 million and €4 million. Kankua, who previously played for Red Star Belgrade and recorded 12 goals and 11 assists in 40 matches for Hapoel, is being targeted as a replacement for departing forward Orbelin Pinède.
