Ajax coach Míchel Sánchez discusses team leadership and player development

Ajax head coach Míchel Sánchez expressed his commitment to continuous professional growth during a press conference ahead of the match against AZ. Sánchez described managing Ajax as a dream and emphasized his desire to constantly learn to better support his players both individually and collectively.

Sánchez praised goalkeeper Marc ter Stegen, describing him as one of the best in the world and a vital leader in the locker room. The German goalkeeper, who has overcome recent injury struggles, was credited with securing a recent victory against Sparta Rotterdam through key saves and his professional mentality.

Regarding striker Tolu Arokodare, Sánchez noted that while the player is a fan favorite, there is a demand for more consistency and intensity in pressing. Sánchez stated that Arokodare has the ability to execute this pressure perfectly and is capable of meeting the team's aggressive defensive requirements when fully focused.
