Ajax defeated FC Sion 4-2 at the Stade de Tourbillon in a Conference League qualifying match. While FC Sion initially held their own and even took an early lead, Ajax turned the game around in the second half.

Julian Brandt scored the equalizer shortly after the break, shifting the momentum. Subsequent goals from Tolu Arokodare and Davy Klaassen secured the victory for the Dutch side. FC Sion manager Didier Tholot noted that the team struggled mentally after exhausting their energy in the first half and conceded too many goals in a single half.

Despite the loss, Tholot expressed hope for the return leg in Amsterdam, describing the task of overturning the deficit as ‘almost an impossible mission, but it is not over yet.’ Sion defender Numa Lavanchy praised the quality of the Ajax squad, stating the team is of ‘Champions League level.’
