Ajax manager Míchel Sánchez defends players and tactical progress

Ajax head coach Míchel Sánchez has addressed recent team performances, defending young left-back Jofre Torrents following criticism after a loss to Hajduk Split. Sánchez emphasized that the defeat was a collective failure rather than the fault of an individual, stating that Torrents played at the same level as the rest of the team during that match.

Following a poor showing in Croatia, Sánchez noted a positive reaction from his squad in a subsequent match against FC Groningen. He expressed confidence in the team's ability to compete at a high level, including potential victories against Atalanta in the Conference League.

Former player and coach Frank de Boer also commented on the club's direction, describing the current style of play under Sánchez as a 'relief' compared to previous years. De Boer noted an increase in dynamism and tactical principles, specifically praising the signing of Daley Blind and the return of more fluid attacking movements.
