Ajax manager to delay Viktor Tsygankov debut

Ajax manager Míchel Sánchez has confirmed that new signing Viktor Tsygankov will not be included in the matchday squad for the upcoming away game against Telstar. Although the Ukrainian winger has fully integrated into the squad and completed his first training sessions, the coaching staff intends to ‘introduce him gradually’.

Tsygankov, who joined Ajax from Girona, had previously been expected to potentially debut this weekend after receiving his work permit and KNVB registration in record time. While he is now eligible to play, the decision to omit him from the selection is a tactical choice to manage his integration into the team.
