Ajax manager warns Super Eagles coach over Tolu Arokodare

Ajax manager Míchel Sánchez has issued a warning to Nigeria Super Eagles coach Eric Chelle regarding striker Tolu Arokodare. Despite scoring Ajax’s only goal in a 3-1 defeat to PSV, Arokodare was substituted after an hour due to concerns over his energy levels and contribution to the team's tactical structure.

Sánchez noted that while Arokodare is a key player, he failed to act as the required focal point to help the team hold onto the ball. The Spanish coach demanded greater determination and energy from the striker moving forward.

Arokodare has scored five goals since joining Ajax, but his performance issues come at a critical time for the Nigerian national team. With injuries to Victor Osimhen and Paul Onuachu, Arokodare may face increased responsibility during the upcoming AFCON qualifiers in September.
