Ajax, Ontario park vehicle chase ends with arrest, no injuries

On the evening of July 18, a 23‑year‑old man from Aurora drove a white Toyota sedan through Rotary Park in Ajax, Ontario. The vehicle entered the playground and splash‑pad area, then continued onto the pedestrian bridge along the Waterfront Trail, repeatedly evading police attempts to stop it. After the car collided with an unrelated GMC SUV, officers apprehended the driver without any reported injuries. He was charged with dangerous operation of a vehicle and failure to stop for police and was held for a bail hearing.

Police appealed for dash‑cam or surveillance footage and urged anyone with information to contact Durham Regional Police.
