Tolu Arokodare discusses Ajax success and relationship with coach Míchel

Ajax striker Tolu Arokodare has expressed high satisfaction with his time in Amsterdam, describing the club and its facilities as “heaven.” The 25-year-old Nigerian forward, currently on loan from Wolverhampton, has become a key figure for the team, scoring nine goals in fourteen official matches.

Arokodare addressed his relationship with head coach Míchel Sánchez, noting that while they engage in frequent and intense discussions regarding both professional and personal development, the bond is highly positive and dynamic. Míchel echoed these sentiments, praising Arokodare’s intelligence and personality, noting that their communication remains effective despite language barriers.

In a recent interview, Arokodare also shared humorous remarks regarding teammate Marc-André ter Stegen, jokingly stating that the goalkeeper’s skill during training can be “irritating” because of how many shots he saves. He also praised the quality of the squad, specifically mentioning Julian Brandt, and expressed support for teammate Marcos Leonardo.
