Ajax signs Simon Adingra on loan from Sunderland
Ajax has completed the signing of Ivorian winger Simon Adingra on a season-long loan from Sunderland AFC. The deal includes an option to purchase the 24-year-old for a reported €15.9 million (£13.7 million), with Ajax also paying a loan fee of approximately €3.8 million.
Adingra, who previously played for Brighton & Hove Albion and AS Monaco, joins Ajax to provide depth and speed in the attacking line. He noted that his decision was influenced by conversations with former Sunderland teammate Brian Brobbey, who described Ajax as ‘his home’, and his admiration for Mohammed Kudus’s success at the club.
The winger is currently recovering from a minor injury and is expected to be fit for action within a few weeks. His arrival follows other recent moves for Ajax, including the signings of Thilo Kehrer and Caio Henrique.
