Ajax nearing completion of Jofre Torrents transfer from Barcelona

Ajax is nearing the completion of a permanent transfer for 19-year-old Barcelona defender Jofre Torrents. The left-back is expected to be officially presented within hours, serving as a reinforcement behind Caio Henrique.

As part of the agreement, Barcelona will retain 50 per cent of Torrents’ rights and holds a buy-back option, allowing the Catalan club to maintain a route for his potential return. While Celta Vigo has expressed interest, the immediate move is to Amsterdam.

In other transfer developments, Ajax manager Míchel Sánchez has expressed interest in signing Sergio Arribas from Almería to bolster the attacking midfield and wing positions. Arribas, a former Real Madrid youth player, finished last season as the Segunda División top scorer with 25 goals.
