Jansen suggests that Cruijff is pursuing an independent path, prioritizing immediate squad composition over the club's academy, second team, or scouting operations. Jansen noted that Cruijff has a significant budget to execute these plans and is working to stabilize the club's current situation.

However, club observer Daan Sutorius has raised concerns regarding this short-term approach. While Ajax is showing improvement under coach Míchel Sánchez and currently sits fifth in the Eredivisie, Sutorius warns that the current policy lacks long-term structural building. He cautioned that if Ajax fails to win the league title this season, the club could face a major exodus of players this summer, potentially forcing the team to rebuild from scratch.
