Ajax Women advance to Champions League third round after Rangers victory

Ajax Women have advanced to the third qualifying round of the UEFA Women's Champions League following a 2-1 victory against Rangers FC. In the match held at Petershill Park, Nadine Noordam opened the scoring in the 66th minute after a header from Katja Snoeijs could not be controlled by the Rangers goalkeeper.

Rangers responded before the end of regulation when Eilidh Austin scored a header from a corner kick to equalize. However, Ajax secured the win in stoppage time when Sherida Spitse converted a penalty.

The victory follows Ajax's previous 2-0 win against Brøndby IF. The Dutch side now awaits a second-round opponent for a two-legged tie scheduled for late August and early September.
