Ajay Devgn film retitled Jaan and moved to 2027

Ajay Devgn’s upcoming jungle action film, previously titled ‘Ranger’, is undergoing a significant rebranding and schedule shift. The project has been retitled ‘Jaan’, a name that evokes nostalgia from Devgn’s successful 1996 action drama.

Originally slated for a December 4, 2026, release, the film has been pushed to 2027. Reports indicate a potential March 2027 release following the Eid holiday, a window deemed ideal for a jungle adventure film targeting school and college audiences. This postponement avoids a crowded box office window that included Akshay Kumar and Vidya Balan’s untitled comedy, as well as Shraddha Kapoor’s ‘Eetha’.

Produced by Luv Ranjan and directed by Jagan Shakti, the film stars Ajay Devgn, Sanjay Dutt, and Tamannaah Bhatia. The plot follows a forest officer dedicated to protecting tigers while facing corruption and a gang of poachers led by a character played by Sanjay Dutt. Production continues with plans for a special dance sequence featuring Devgn and Bhatia.
