Ajay Devgn to host Crime Patrol 2026 for Sony

Bollywood actor Ajay Devgn is set to make his television hosting debut as the new face of the long-running crime franchise ‘Crime Patrol 2026: Crime Ka Current Season’. Devgn replaces long-time host Anup Soni, who was closely associated with the show for over a decade. The new season is scheduled to premiere on August 31, 2026, on Sony Entertainment Television and the streaming platform Sony LIV.

Devgn has reportedly already filmed 15 episodes for the initial run. His continued involvement may depend on audience response and television rating point (TRP) performance. Actor Rajesh Tailang is also expected to host select episodes during the season.

The announcement is part of a broader festive content strategy unveiled by Sony Pictures Networks India (SPNI). The network's upcoming lineup includes several high-profile projects, such as the 18th season of ‘Kaun Banega Crorepati’, a new show featuring cricketer Rohit Sharma, and various regional programming. SPNI leadership stated the goal is to provide differentiated, high-quality content to stand out in a crowded marketplace.
