Ajay Rai denies fish feast allegations in Uttar Pradesh
Uttar Pradesh politics has intensified following a dispute over allegations that Congress State President Ajay Rai participated in a fish feast after visiting a religious site in Ayodhya. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath had previously taunted Rai, suggesting he chants religious slogans but consumes fish after visiting Hanuman Garhi.
Speaking in Varanasi, Ajay Rai denied the claims, stating he is a devotee of Lord Shiva and does not lie. He challenged the BJP to release any video or photographic evidence of the alleged incident. Rai argued that the accusations insult the Nishad community, whose culture and livelihood are centered around fishing.
Rai further demanded that if no evidence is produced, the Chief Minister should resign. He also criticized BJP leaders for their own dietary habits in South India, dismissing their recent claims regarding food consumption.
