Ajeet Bharti booked for alleged casteist remarks against Chandrashekhar Azad
Delhi Police have registered a First Information Report (FIR) against YouTuber and commentator Ajeet Bharti for allegedly making derogatory, casteist, and sexually explicit remarks. The complaint, filed by the Azad Samaj Party (Kanshi Ram), targets Bharti for comments made in a video regarding recent anti-reservation protests at Jantar Mantar.
The FIR invokes the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act, the Information Technology Act, and provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita related to promoting enmity between groups and criminal intimidation. The complainants allege that Bharti’s video contained “caste-based, abusive, humiliating, sexually degrading and potentially inflammatory statements” directed at Nagina MP Chandrashekhar Azad, Dalit women, and Dr. B. R. Ambedkar.
Ajeet Bharti has denied using casteist slurs against Chandrashekhar Azad. He stated in a social media post that his remarks were a response to abusive and obscene comments allegedly directed at his mother and sister, claiming he could not remain silent while his family was targeted. Bharti further alleged that the legal action was filed due to pressure from the Azad Samaj Party.
