Ajeetesh Sandhu and Stepan Danek lead Chennai Open first round

Ajeetesh Sandhu and Stepan Danek share the first-round lead at the Chennai Open after both carded seven-under 65s at the TNGF Cosmo Golf Course.

Sandhu, a former Asian Tour winner, recorded eight birdies and one bogey. He concluded his round with birdies on the 16th and 18th holes despite landing in greenside bunkers on both. Danek, a Czech golfer in his third PGTI season, matched the score with a flawless round featuring seven birdies, particularly excelling on the par-five holes.

Jairaj Singh Sandhu, Rashid Khan, and Pawan Verma are tied for third place, with Jairaj Singh Sandhu shooting a bogey-free six-under 66. The tournament is part of the DP World PGTI and impacts the Race to the DP World India Championship.
