Ajinomoto’s Knorr bread-filled soup hits 13 million servings

Ajinomoto Co., Inc. has announced that its bread-filled soup product, ‘Knorr Sakusaku de Copain’, has surpassed 13 million servings sold within approximately one year of its launch. The success has driven a 288% year-on-year increase in sales value for the company’s bread-filled containerized soup category.

The product features a proprietary recipe and production method from the company’s own bakery in Tokachi, Hokkaido, designed to ensure the bread maintains a crunchy texture even after being submerged in hot soup. This technology addresses a common consumer complaint regarding bread becoming soggy in instant soups.

Driven by rising food costs and a desire for affordable, filling meals, the product has gained significant traction among working women aged 20 to 50. To build on this momentum, Ajinomoto has introduced a new seafood and milk clam chowder flavor to its existing lineup of corn, pumpkin, and sweet potato varieties.
