After a recent century against England, BCCI secretary Devjit Saikia publicly affirmed Sharma’s place in upcoming plans, a statement that selection committee members claim was made under fan pressure and left them feeling sidelined. The dispute has heightened scrutiny of Agarkar’s position, with some reports suggesting the board may act swiftly to restructure the committee.
