AJR Courier Service targeted in repeated attacks and death threats in Dhaka
The manager of AJR Courier Service in Hazaribagh, Dhaka, has received death threats via telephone following a legal complaint filed after a violent attack on the company's warehouse and office. The complainant, manager Afsar Uddin, was reportedly told by an unidentified caller that if a settlement was not reached by Saturday, his ‘corpse would be lying there’ first.
Following the threat on Friday night, a group of 10 to 15 individuals on motorcycles attacked the company again on Saturday morning, vandalizing two covered vans parked near the office. This marks the second major incident in four days; the initial attack on Tuesday involved masked individuals who disabled CCTV cameras, threatened security personnel, looted laptops, and stole goods valued at approximately 3.1 million BDT.
Police have arrested eight individuals in connection with the initial incident, but primary suspects named as Saiful and Juwel remain at large. Authorities are currently investigating the audio recording of the death threat as part of the ongoing case.
