Akçaabat, Turkey sees foundation laid for new bus terminal

On 31 July 2026, a ceremony in Akçaabat, a district of Trabzon Province, marked the laying of the foundation for a new bus terminal. The event was attended by Trabzon Metropolitan Mayor Ahmet Metin Genç, Governor Tahir Şahin, District Governor Abdullah Şahin, Akçaabat Mayor Osman Nuri Ekim and many residents.

The terminal project is budgeted at 77.3 million Turkish lira, will include 935 m² of covered space, and is scheduled for completion within 461 days. Officials said the facility will enhance the district’s transport infrastructure for years to come and will also feature a Sargana Park, lighting of the Kavaklı Rahman Mosque and a memorial for Yüzbaşı Hakkı Bey.
