Akçakale land dispute clash injures eight, six detained

A land‑ownership dispute in the Bulutlu neighbourhood of Akçakale district, Şanlıurfa Province, Turkey, erupted into a stone‑ and stick‑filled fight between two families from Harran district’s Konacık neighbourhood. Women, men and children took part as the confrontation escalated, leaving eight people wounded and causing damage to homes and vehicles.

Turkish gendarmerie forces intervened, firing warning shots to disperse the combatants. Six suspects were taken into custody, and a criminal investigation was launched. The clash was captured on a by‑stander's mobile phone video.
