Akçakoca faces sea safety warnings and high waves

In the Akçakoca district of Düzce, heavy winds have caused sea conditions to deteriorate, with wave heights reaching approximately 4 meters. Due to the increased safety risks along the coastline, the Akçakoca District Governorate has implemented a ban on swimming in the sea to protect public safety. Authorities have urged citizens to follow the warnings of lifeguards and coast guard units and to avoid approaching beaches until conditions improve.

Meanwhile, Fakıllı Cave, a significant natural tourism destination located 8 kilometers from the Akçakoca district center, continues to attract nature enthusiasts. The cave features various galleries and natural formations, including stalactites and stalagmites. Approximately 40,000 people visit the site annually, with visitors particularly interested in the highly mineralized areas known as the ‘white room’.
