Akçalar Fadıllı Fig Festival to promote Bursa black figs

The 12th Akçalar Fadıllı Fig Festival is scheduled to take place on Sunday, September 13, at the Akçalar lakeside. Organized by the Nilüfer Municipality, the event aims to promote the geographically indicated Bursa black fig and support local agricultural producers.

The festival program includes workshops, traditional competitions, and various performances. Key highlights include the ‘Best Fig Grower Competition’ and the ‘Fig Flavors Cooking Competition.’ Cultural entertainment will feature the Nilüfer Folk Dance group and the Nilüfer Municipality Romani Orchestra, concluding with a concert by the group Karaf.

Nilüfer Mayor Şadi Özdemir invited residents to celebrate the region's agricultural abundance and local labor. To facilitate attendance, the municipality will provide free shuttle services starting at 17:00 from the BursaRay Bursa Uludağ University Station and the Akçalar Service Building to the lakeside.
