An Se-young and South Korean pairs win gold at BWF World Championships

South Korean badminton players achieved significant success at the 2026 BWF World Championships in New Delhi. An Se-young, the world No. 1, secured her second career world title in the women's singles category. She defeated Japan's Akane Yamaguchi in straight games (21-17, 21-14) in the final, overcoming recent concerns regarding a knee injury.

In the women's doubles, the South Korean pair Baek Ha-na and Lee So-hee claimed the gold medal, marking the country's first women's doubles world title in 31 years. They defeated the world No. 1 Chinese pair, Liu Sheng Shu and Tan Ning, with a score of 21-15, 21-15.

In the men's singles, France's Alex Lanier reached the final after defeating Canada's Victor Li in a three-game match.
