Akash Network to migrate from Cosmos to Solana
Akash Network, a decentralized cloud computing marketplace designed for AI workloads, has passed a governance proposal with 98% approval to migrate from the Cosmos blockchain to Solana.
The migration will involve transitioning the AKT token into a Solana SPL token, maintaining its current ticker and decimal structure. While the token migration has been authorized, the marketplace itself will remain on Cosmos until further audits are completed and a subsequent vote is conducted.
The move aims to leverage Solana’s high-throughput infrastructure to improve transaction throughput, finalization latency, and cost structures for compute buyers and sellers. This transition aligns the protocol with Solana’s architecture, which targets sub-second finalization for real-time compute coordination.
