Akasoba Duke-Abiola accepts UN Secretary-General nomination

Separately, in Nigeria, over 300 women's rights organizations have condemned the Senate's confirmation of Prof. Abayomi Sunday Fasina as an Ambassador. The coalition filed a petition disputing Senate President Godswill Akpabio's decision, citing pending sexual harassment and victimization lawsuits at the National Industrial Court. The groups challenged the Senate's claims regarding Fasina's indigene status and the lack of opposition to his appointment, arguing that confirming a nominee with active judicial proceedings against him disregards due process.
