Akbank hosts sign language workshop for youth volunteering

Akbank has launched the 12th iteration of its ‘Şehrin İyi Hali’ (The Good State of the City) project, an initiative designed to foster a culture of volunteering among young people. The project aims to encourage youth to take active roles in providing social benefits by connecting them with various non-governmental organizations (NGOs).

In its most recent activity, held at Akbank Campus, the project collaborated with the social initiative ‘Hadi İşaret’ to host a sign language awareness workshop. The event featured interactive games and learning methods to introduce participants to inclusive communication. Akbank Brand and Communications Manager Seçil Demiralp and actress Serenay Sarıkaya participated in the event alongside 30 volunteers.

Over its 12-year history, the project has engaged nearly 25,000 university students, collaborated with 48 different NGOs, and conducted over 300 events and 200 online meetings. The initiative focuses on developing leadership skills, empathy, and social responsibility in youth to build a more sustainable and inclusive society.
