Akbank restructures commercial banking with new center model

Akbank is restructuring its commercial banking services through a new 'Commercial Center' model designed to provide more integrated and rapid solutions for corporate clients. Moving beyond the traditional branch structure, the model brings together expert teams including center managers, lead consultants, and customer representatives to address the specific sectoral and regional needs of businesses.

The bank opened its first location, the Europe Commercial Center, in Istanbul this August. Akbank plans to expand this network significantly, aiming to establish a total of 26 commercial centers across Turkey by the end of 2027. Key target cities for this expansion include Ankara, Izmir, Kayseri, Samsun, Adana, Gaziantep, and Bursa.

Özlem Atik, Akbank's Assistant General Manager of Commercial Banking, stated that the model was designed to meet the evolving needs of corporate customers who require banking partners capable of understanding their industries and accelerating decision-making processes.
