Contemporary Istanbul opens 21st edition at Tersane Istanbul

The 21st edition of Contemporary Istanbul has opened at Tersane Istanbul, running from September 23 to 27, 2026. The international art event features 70 galleries from 16 countries, including 22 participating for the first time, and includes a Focus: Asia program highlighting contemporary Asian art.

Key highlights of this edition include digital and technological integrations. Samsung Electronics Türkiye has joined as the ART TV Partner, showcasing its The Frame, Micro RGB, and OLED TV models alongside digital works by South Korean multidisciplinary artist Vakki. Additionally, Trendyol Sanat is presenting ‘Seyir’, a digital installation by artist Balkan Karışman. Curated by GLOBART, the piece uses real-time imagery of the Golden Horn (Haliç) that transforms based on the viewer's proximity and movement, blurring the lines between the physical and digital worlds.

The event, supported by Akbank as the main partner, has drawn significant attention from the business, culture, and social spheres, with a VIP opening attended by various prominent figures from the art and commercial sectors.
