Akdeniz Municipality conducts sidewalk occupation inspections
The Akdeniz Municipality Police Department in Mersin has conducted inspections across busy streets, squares, and sidewalks to address illegal occupations that threaten pedestrian safety and movement.
During these operations, municipal teams identified and removed various obstructions, including merchant stalls, signs, and cones placed on walkways. Additionally, motorcycles and other vehicles parked on sidewalks were removed to clear passage for pedestrians.
Police Department Manager Ufuk Sivaslıoğlu stated that these inspections are part of routine efforts to maintain public order and safety. While the primary goal is to prevent grievances for both citizens and local businesses, Sivaslıoğlu noted that administrative sanctions will be imposed on those who fail to comply with regulations under the Misdemeanor Law.
