Akdeniz Municipality hosts Kintsugi workshop for women

Akdeniz Municipality organized a Kintsugi workshop for women at the Özgürlük Neighborhood Family Support Center-1. Led by psychologist Günay Duygu Ateş, the event utilized the traditional Japanese art of Kintsugi—repairing broken ceramics with natural resin and gold powder—as a tool for psychological healing.

Participants practiced reassembling broken porcelain and ceramic objects, using the process of repair to reflect on their own life experiences and emotions. The workshop aimed to prioritize healing over perfection, encouraging participants to embrace fragility and find new value in their personal histories. Following the success of this session, officials indicated that similar workshops may be expanded to other culture and art houses in the district upon demand.
