Akşehir OSB begins major infrastructure and social facility projects
A major infrastructure project has commenced at the Akşehir Organized Industrial Zone (OSB) in Konya, Turkey, to support the region's growing industrial capacity. A groundbreaking ceremony was held for several critical facilities, including a fire station, a 112 Emergency Health Services center, a gendarmerie station, a modern mosque, and ten commercial units.
During the ceremony, Deputy Minister of National Defense Musa Heybet announced plans to evaluate the production capacities, R&D, and marketing potential of the zone's firms. The goal is to increase the contribution of Akşehir-based industrialists to the national defense industry ecosystem.
Since its establishment in 1996, the Akşehir OSB has expanded from 113 hectares to 153 hectares of active industrial area. Currently, 59 businesses are actively producing within the zone, with several more factory constructions underway.
