AKEL calls for progressive political cooperation in Cyprus

The AKEL political party has issued a call for cooperation among progressive forces, social organizations, and citizens to seek political change in Cyprus. The party expressed a desire to lead a joint effort to address issues such as economic inequality, corruption, and various national scandals.

AKEL stated it is open to dialogue regarding programmatic positions and the selection of a common candidate for the Presidency. The party emphasized that any such cooperation must be based on agreed principles of governance and a progressive program focused on the needs of the people rather than just economic statistics.

This initiative comes as the party criticizes the current administration and the DISY party, particularly noting DISY's promotion of Averof Neofytou as a candidate.
