Akerusia Danza Presents 'Alla Corte dei Cunti' at Castel Nuovo, Naples

On Tuesday, 4 August, Akerusia Danza staged the new production “Alla Corte dei Cunti” in the historic courtyard of Castel Nuovo in Naples at 21:00. The show, commissioned by the Municipality of Naples as part of the “Estate a Napoli 2026 – Teatro e danza al Castello” programme, blends Neapolitan tradition with contemporary music, theatre and dance.

Directed by Patrizia Di Martino and choreographed by Elena D’Aguanno, Sabrina D’Aguanno and Sonia Di Gennaro, the performance presents “Le Sette Cotenelle”, the previously unpublished final work of composer Aladino Di Martino, inspired by one of Giambattista Basile’s tales from the Pentamerone. Live music is performed by Giancarlo Del Vecchio, with orchestral direction and score revision by Domenico Virgili. Costumes designed by Greta Paliotti and scenery by Ciro Di Matteo complete the visual homage to 17th‑century Naples.
