Akhilesh Reddy handed eight-year ban for Abu Dhabi T10 match-fixing
The International Cricket Council (ICC) has imposed an eight‑year ban on USA cricketer Bodugum Akhilesh Reddy after an anti‑corruption tribunal found him guilty on three counts related to the 2025‑26 Abu Dhabi T10 tournament. The ban, back‑dated to 21 November 2025, stems from attempts to influence match proceedings by asking a teammate to concede runs, encouraging a breach of anti‑corruption rules, and deleting WhatsApp messages and call records to obstruct the investigation.
Reddy, a 26‑year‑old off‑spinner who debuted for the United States in a T20I in April 2025, played two matches for the Aspin Stallions in the Abu Dhabi T10, which finished as runners‑up. The ICC’s decision follows a three‑member tribunal chaired by Michael J Beloff KC.
The sanction underscores the ICC’s commitment to maintaining integrity in cricket and serves as a warning to players worldwide.
