Akhilesh Yadav disputes denied helicopter landing permission in Bulandshahr

A political dispute has emerged in Bulandshahr, Uttar Pradesh, after local authorities denied permission for Samajwadi Party President Akhilesh Yadav’s helicopter to land during his scheduled visit on September 11.

District administration officials, including City Magistrate JP Pandey, cited safety concerns and waterlogging at the designated landing site as the reasons for the refusal. SP City Abhishek Pratap Ajey stated that a report from the relevant engineer indicated the field was not secure for helicopter landings, necessitating adherence to VVIP security standards.

Akhilesh Yadav has rejected these claims, posting a video on social media to argue that the landing site is not waterlogged and that officials are using excuses regarding cement and paving blocks to obstruct his program. He questioned why “weather and landing conditions” seem to only deteriorate for the opposition and demanded an investigation by independent experts. The Samajwadi Party has accused the administration of acting under pressure from the ruling party to disrupt opposition activities.
