AKI makes Los Angeles fashion debut at BaileyWick

Japanese sustainable fashion brand AKI made its Los Angeles debut on August 28, 2026, through the ‘CURATED COLLECTION BY KAZUE’ launched by stylist Kazue Mizushima. The collection was introduced at BaileyWick, a boutique located within The London West Hollywood.

Founded by Osaka-born designer AKI, the brand focuses on a made-to-order model to avoid the fast-fashion cycle. The designer’s background includes studying at the Instituto Marangoni in Milan and working at YOHJI YAMAMOTO FEMME, as well as studying traditional men’s tailoring in Palermo, Sicily.

The brand’s aesthetic integrates traditional Japanese textile patterns, such as Enso, Shippo, and Sayagata, with contemporary designs and original color combinations. AKI also emphasizes sustainability by utilizing surplus and deadstock materials to create custom garments.
