Akio Toyoda inducted into Automotive Hall of Fame

Akio Toyoda, chairman of Toyota Motor Corporation, was inducted into the Automotive Hall of Fame during an event in Detroit, Michigan, on September 23. The honor recognizes leaders and innovators who have shaped the global automotive and mobility industries.

Toyoda, who became president of Toyota in 2009, led the company through significant challenges by strengthening quality controls and rebuilding brand trust. His leadership emphasized a region-led management structure and the philosophy of ‘making ever-better cars.’ Additionally, his background as a master driver has utilized motorsports as a testing ground for vehicle and personnel development.

Toyoda is the fourth member of the Toyoda family to receive this induction, following Kiichiro Toyoda, Shoichiro Toyoda, and Eiji Toyoda. The induction ceremony also included Taiichi Ohno, known as the father of the Toyota Production System.
