akippa to list on Tokyo Stock Exchange with 33.8 billion yen valuation
The Tokyo Stock Exchange has approved the listing of akippa, an Osaka-based parking marketplace operator, on the Standard Market. The listing is scheduled for September 18, with an expected offering price of 540 yen, resulting in an estimated market capitalization of approximately 33.8 billion yen.
Founded in 2009, akippa allows users to reserve and pay for vacant monthly parking spaces or private garages via smartphone. The company reports over 5.5 million cumulative members and more than 55,000 listed parking spaces nationwide. SBI Securities will serve as the lead underwriter. The proceeds from the issuance of 378,000 new shares, totaling approximately 169 million yen, will be used for personnel costs related to product development and outsourcing expenses.
Major shareholders, including SOMPO Holdings and DeNA, will sell shares as part of the process. akippa has shown significant financial growth, with projected sales for the fiscal year ending December 2025 reaching 3.828 billion yen, a 20% increase from the previous year. Operating profit for the same period is expected to reach 201 million yen, a substantial increase following the company's turn to profitability in December 2023.
