Akis Pavlopoulos departs SKAI, Giannis Pittaras named new co‑host
Akis Pavlopoulos ended his four‑year stint on SKAI’s morning news programme “Sima”, delivering an emotional farewell alongside co‑anchor Dimitris Oikonomou. He will move to ANT1’s morning slot, partnering with Vasilis Chiotis. SKAI responded by confirming journalist Giannis Pittaras as Oikonomou’s new co‑host for the upcoming season. The change also prompted adjustments to the weekend show “Dekatiani”, with discussions about possible replacements such as journalist Maria Vousoula. Colleagues, including Maro Karousi and members of the “Ateiriatoi” team, publicly praised Pavlopoulos and wished him success.
The network’s reshuffle aims to sustain audience ratings by pairing Oikonomou with an experienced journalist familiar with SKAI’s editorial style.
