Akita Prefectural Assembly election sees early surge of 10 new candidates

Ten new candidates have already expressed intentions to run in the upcoming Akita Prefectural Assembly election scheduled for next spring. This early surge in activity contrasts with the previous election, where only one newcomer had declared candidacy at this stage.

The pool of newcomers includes three candidates from the Liberal Democratic Party, two from the Constitutional Democratic Party, two from the Democratic Party for the People, and three independents. Additionally, five current assembly members have indicated their intention to retire, though some have yet to finalize their positions.
