Akita Prefecture announces upcoming music, running, and community events

Various community and cultural events are scheduled to take place in Akita Prefecture.

The Akita Music Festival 2026 is set for September 5 and 6 in Akita City. The event will feature diverse musical genres, including local bands, high school brass bands, and traditional Japanese drumming, across multiple venues such as Area Nakaichi and Atrion.

In Akita Prefecture, the ‘Akita Chabudai Kaigi’ will begin next month, with sessions held at 10 different locations. This free event uses a game format to encourage people of all ages and backgrounds to connect and discuss the future of the region.

Additionally, the ‘Akita Run Festa 2026’ is scheduled for October 11 at Youth Stadium in Akita City. Organizers are currently accepting participant registrations for this new running event through August 28.
