Akol Akon impresses Sydney FC captain ahead of A-League season

Akon, who debuted last season, is expected to be a central figure in Sydney FC’s attack for the upcoming A-League Men campaign. The teenager has reportedly attracted interest from European clubs, though he cannot transfer abroad until he turns 18.

Sydney FC is set to begin its season on Friday, October 16, at Allianz Stadium in a derby against the Western Sydney Wanderers. The match features former Sydney FC coach Ufuk Talay, who joined the Wanderers following a mid-season departure from Sydney last year.
