Đakovo leads regional youth swimming training programs

In Đakovo, more than 300 children are participating in a swimming training program at the City Pool this year. This initiative makes Đakovo a leader in the Osijek-Baranja County for the number of participants in non-swimmer training programs.

To date, 268 children have passed through 22 groups, with 244 earning swimming certificates. The program is set to continue with six additional groups for fourth-grade students. The training is conducted by kinesiology professors and is co-financed by the City of Đakovo, Osijek-Baranja County, and the Ministry of Tourism and Sport. Mayor Marin Mandarić noted that the high turnout reflects parental trust in the program, which aims to ensure children feel safe in the water during holidays and at various aquatic locations.
