Akragas ancient port museum path to open in San Leone

A new museum path at the ancient port of Akragas is scheduled to open on Thursday, October 8, at the Maddalusa bridge in San Leone. The project, developed by the Libero Consorzio Comunale di Agrigento, aims to make a historically rich area accessible to the public through landscape and environmental redevelopment.

Funded by regional resources, the initiative revitalizes the coastal stretch of the Maddalusa district and the mouth of the Akragas River, which had previously fallen into a state of decay. The museum path will detail the history of the Akragas colony through its ancient port. The site also includes new facilities for birdwatching and the recovery of the former Focetta premises.
